GOD IS AT WORK, EVEN IN THE YOUNGEST HEARTS

in the Preschool Ministry! As we partner with parents and equip our volunteers, we are grateful for the opportunity to help guide these children toward a lifelong faith.

This ministry is a picture of what God is doing in the next generation. We look forward with expectation, trusting that the seeds being planted now will grow into lives that love Jesus and reflect his truth for years to come.

Welcome, Deborah Ortiz

We have new team member in our Preschool Ministry!

Deborah Ortiz joined our staff in February of 2026 to help oversee the growing needs of our Preschool Ministry. Deborah is working alongside Lisetta Layer to reach the youngest disciples on our campus. Deborah has led and supported teams for Rockwall ISD, overseeing after-school programs in 16 elementary schools. We are excited to have Deborah on our team!

AT PCBC KIDS, WE INVITE 1ST-5TH GRADERS TO EXPLORE GOD'S TRUTHS

through biblically based lessons that they can lean on all through their life.

We encourage 4th and 5th graders to attend worship service one hour and spend the other hour with their age-based Connect Group. We offer two Connect Groups for our 1st-3rd graders with varying learning environments that engage kids in different ways. See more details about each hour below.

PCBC Kids and our entire Next Gen Ministry are here for your entire family – and we’re committed to partner with you as you lead your kids to follow Christ.

CHILDLIKE FAITH

Last summer, Sam began asking questions about baptism and what it means to follow Jesus. He met with Rebekah to talk more about the gospel, and during that conversation, he decided he needed more time to pray and think.

After the Water

THIS YEAR, WE LAUNCHED A NEW CLASS FOR KIDS FOLLOWING THEIR BAPTISM TO HELP THEM CONTINUE TO GROW IN WHAT IT MEANS TO FOLLOW JESUS.

Over the course of five weeks, ministers from across the church teach on key areas of the Christian life, including reading the Bible, mission work, spiritual gifts, the Lord’s Supper and living in their new identity in Christ. Each week, kids engage with these truths in meaningful ways, asking questions and taking steps forward in their faith. Parents and kids alike are beginning to see the impact. Many are sharing how much they enjoy the experience, but even more, how they are seeing real growth and change in their lives.

The final session together is a particularly meaningful moment. Parents join their children as families participate in the Lord’s Supper together. As children serve their parents first, it becomes a powerful picture of faith taking root and being lived out within families.

This class is a reminder that faith does not stop at salvation. It continues to grow as kids learn to understand and live out what it means to belong to Jesus. It is a picture of what God is doing in the next generation — not only drawing them to himself, but helping them take ownership of their faith and continue growing in it.

VBS 2025

A TOTAL OF 676 CHILDREN ATTENDED VBS IN 2025!

The gospel was clearly shared and throughout the week, kids not only learned about Jesus, but also had the opportunity to respond. Several made professions of faith, and some have taken the next step through baptism.

The week also fostered a heart for serving others. Together — and in just one week — kids raised $9,123.99 to provide beds for families in the neighboring Vickery community. Many took initiative beyond the church, setting up lemonade stands in their neighborhoods to contribute to the effort.

VBS is a picture of what God is doing in the next generation: helping kids grow in their faith, respond to the gospel and begin living it out in tangible ways.

WE EXIST TO BE A PLACE WHERE STUDENTS CAN GROW IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD,

find deep and intentional community, and make life-long friendships as we walk towards Jesus together. We hope to love God more deeply and see Jesus more clearly in every moment, and we’d love for you to join us on the journey.

A GENERATION OF BOLD FAITH

Corinne Wade, an 11th-grade student at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, has been part of our student ministry for years. During that time, we have had the joy of watching her grow not only as a student and leader, but as a disciple of Jesus. What has become increasingly clear is that Corinne’s faith is not just something she believes — it is something she lives out with courage.

Thee Camp 2025

AN UNFORGETTABLE WEEK WHERE STUDENTS STEPPED UP TO LEAD, MENTOR AND BOLDLY POINT ONE ANOTHER TO JESUS.

Throughout the week, students experienced both meaningful teaching and shared moments of fun, creating an environment where they could grow in their understanding of what it means to live for the Kingdom of God.

What began at camp did not stay there. As students returned home, many carried that momentum with them — continuing to grow in their faith and live it out in their everyday lives.

THE MISSION OF PCBC SPORTS & RECREATION IS TO CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER AND WITH CHRIST.

We provide safe and fun activities for church members and our greater community, building physical and athletic skills as well as personal character.

Laying a Foundation of Faith

At the PCBC Day School, we are seeing how early childhood education can become a meaningful doorway into deeper community and faith. Each year, families come looking for a place where their children can learn and grow. Along the way, many discover something more — a church family and a place to belong.

The Robertson family is one example of that journey. They first came to The PCBC Day School looking for a preschool for their son, George, but through that connection, they found a church home.

As Austin Robertson shared, “When we first moved to Dallas, we quickly realized how much we needed a church family and Christian community. That desire became even clearer when our first son, George, was born during COVID — a season when so many people felt isolated.

“Over time, PCBC became more than a preschool for our two sons — it became our church home.”

As we looked for a preschool, we found the PCBC Day School. Through that connection, we began attending worship services and classes, became members and eventually started serving in Sunday School. Over time, PCBC became more than a preschool for our two sons — it became our church home, where we’ve built meaningful relationships with other believers and where our family continues to grow together in our faith.”

Stories like this remind us of the role The PCBC Day School plays in the life of our church and community. It is more than a place of learning — it is an open door for families to come, build lasting relationships and begin laying a foundation of faith for the next generation.

Responding to God with Joy

WHEN GRAYSON FIRST JOINED US FOR KIDS WORSHIP, HE WAS A RAMBUNCTIOUS KINDERGARTENDER, FULL OF ENERGY!

Now, just a couple of years later, there is clear evidence of God at work in his life. In large group settings, it can sometimes seem like Grayson is not fully engaged. But in his own way, he is listening. And when the music begins, everything changes.

Each Sunday, during services or in Kids Worship, Grayson comes alive.

He sings with joy and energy, fully engaged in praising God. What started with singing has grown into something more. He now prays for others, participates in Bible stories, recites scripture and even helps lead in worship.

That same growth is evident on Wednesday nights during GROW Kids. At first, Grayson stayed on the edges, quietly taking it all in. Over time, he began to express his faith more openly through music, movement and participation.

Grayson’s story is not just about musical ability. It is about a child learning to worship — responding to God with joy, gratitude and a growing confidence. Even when he seems distracted, he is often deeply focused in ways that are not always visible.

Through music and worship, children are being guided, each in their own way, toward a deeper relationship with Jesus!
