Serving at Church
A Warm Welcome Makes All the Difference

Whether you’re a church member or a guest, you can’t arrive on Sunday without an encounter with Whitney Davis and her amazing Welcome Team — along with a blessing that lets you know right away you are valued, loved, and belong. In fact, many new members to our church family end up joining the Welcome Team right away — and continue to extend the warmth they received.
"I LOVE GETTING TO KNOW PEOPLE AND LEARNING HOW I CAN HELP THEM FIND THEIR PLACE IN MY CHURCH HOME,"
said Whitney. "It all starts with guiding guests to our Discover Class for Newcomers and giving them needed information for choosing their next church family," she explained. “It’s such a blessing to serve at PCBC!”

Prayer Ministry
Our volunteer-led Prayer Team continued to extend their reach across our church and community and is growing in number, as God provides new opportunities for us to gather to pray. This team blessed our church by leading our National Day of Prayer efforts, serving during worship response times to pray and guide those who expressed needs, surrounding our staff members with prayer, and so much more. We're thankful for those whom God is raising up to pray without ceasing, and for their generosity in sharing their gift of faith with us.
You can learn more about the impact of our Prayer Team in the video below.

WHAT A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE WITH THE PCBC PRAYER TEAM THIS PAST YEAR!
Our team is growing and supporting the staff and church family in many ways, whether through stopping by to pray with teachers as they prepared their rooms for VBS, or at the Back to School Blast in August where we had the opportunity to lead prayer for Jack Lowe Elementary and the local schools of our PCBC families.
One Prayer Team member has lived out the PCBC Prays school focus by leading prayer walks across the elementary school campus where her children attend. Another member was able to add her children's assistant principal to the area school prayer group as part of the PCBC Prays school ministry.
In the simplest of steps that we take to pray for others, God meets us there and begins working and responding. There's a place for you to join us this coming year! Learn more at pcbc.org/prayer.

Pastoral Care Ministry
The PCBC staff and church family are committed to coming alongside each other in all seasons and circumstances, in joy and in suffering. We are never more like Jesus than when we bear each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2) and help carry someone through a crisis or challenge that they cannot handle alone.
The Pastoral Care team is where we serve the church family through support groups for grief, divorce, and caregivers; through hospital and in-home visits; and through helping families plan memorial services to honor their loved ones. It’s a continued blessing to be a part of this restorative, person-to-person ministry that sustains others and shares the love and hope of Jesus.

Minister of Pastoral Care

Counseling
PCBC partners with The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology to come alongside our church family through seasons of crisis and challenges. Led by church member Dr. Brad Schwall, licensed counselors from The Center follow a holistic and compassionate approach to guide each client.

GriefShare
A safe harbor for processing the loss of someone close, many from our church and community find hope and comfort through this weekly support group.

In-Home and Flower Ministries
Led by church members who volunteer their time, those who are no longer able to physically attend church are visited weekly with flowers, notes, conversation, and prayer.

DivorceCare
This vital support group sustains those on the path of recovery after separation or divorce.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
